LOEWE Presents “TEAPOTS” at Salone del Mobile 2025

LOEWE redefines the humble teapot with a visionary showcase of design, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling at Salone del Mobile 2025.

A global gathering of 25 artists, designers, and architects transforms the teapot into a canvas of sculptural expression—blending tradition, innovation, and the art of tea.

LOEWE returns to Salone del Mobile for its ninth presentation with a striking new exhibition: LOEWE TEAPOTS. From April 8 to 13, 2025, the prestigious Palazzo Citterio in Milan will host an imaginative collection of teapots created by 25 celebrated artists, designers, and architects from around the world.

Each teapot reinterprets the form and function of this everyday object through a sculptural lens, drawing inspiration from diverse tea traditions and cultures. Artists employed a variety of materials—porcelain, ceramic, leather, copper, and more—embracing innovation in texture, finish, and structure. The handle and spout, signature elements of a teapot, are frequently exaggerated or reimagined to challenge conventional proportions and expectations.

Highlights include:

• Rose Wylie’s oversized, ribbed design nodding to Royal Albert British china.

• Jane Yang-D’Haene’s elongated piece wrapped in frayed clay ribbons.

• Akio Niisato’s perforated porcelain allowing light to pass through.

• Takayuki Sakiyama’s swirling ridges, sculpted from a single piece of clay.

• Uniquely finished pieces by Simone FattalShozo MichikawaDavid Chipperfield, and more, exploring bold gestures and subtle materiality.

Complementing the main collection, LOEWE introduces a series of specially crafted homeware pieces: braided leather coasters, tea cosies, botanical-inspired leather charms, and artisan teapots made from Galician clay with raw or metallic finishes, echoing the decorative tiles of CASA LOEWE stores.

A special edition Earl Grey candle, blending black tea with Calabrian bergamot in a gold-laced iridescent terracotta vessel, will also be unveiled. LOEWE collaborates with Kyoto-based heritage brand Kaikado on a trio of tin tea caddies featuring brass and leather adornments—rabbits, flowers, and mice—housed in custom-woven leather cases.

All exclusive items will be available at Palazzo Citterio during the fair.

Further celebrating tea culture, LOEWE introduces Fiori e Sapori, a springtime tea blend created in collaboration with Postcard Teas. This floral and citrusy infusion of Indian black tea, French verbena, Moroccan rose, Croatian chamomile, and Calabrian bergamot will be available from April 7, 2025, exclusively at Postcard Teas in London and online.

Through LOEWE TEAPOTS, the house reaffirms its deep-rooted commitment to craftsmanship, artistic collaboration, and cultural storytelling, continuing its legacy of boundary-pushing presentations at Salone del Mobile.
