On the illustrious date of March 20, 2024, amidst the vibrant streets of Berlin, Germany, HOUSE, the revered haven for artistic expression, proudly announces its forthcoming spectacle. Building upon the resounding success of its inaugural exhibition, “Very Friendly,” in 2023, HOUSE eagerly unveils its next opus, this time in collaboration with the visionary American artist, Jeff Cowen. Embarking on an enigmatic journey, the theme of this new exhibition delves into the mystical realm of a ‘séance.’
From April 12 to June 2024, patrons will be transported into the heart of history as they wander through the storied halls of HOUSE’s cherished venue, a majestic Wilhelmine edifice steeped in the whispers of the past. Once a sprawling 40-meter-long shooting range, now transformed into an awe-inspiring exhibition space, it sets the stage for an encounter with transcendence.
Entitled “Séance,” this exhibition serves as a poignant dialogue between Cowen and the ghosts of yesteryears, manifested through fourteen captivating works adorning custom-crafted steel monoliths, resembling monuments of artistic prowess. Amidst these ethereal creations, visitors will find themselves surrounded by the echoes of other esteemed artists, such as Hans Bellmer, Joseph Beuys, and Claude Cahun, among others, further enriching the narrative tapestry woven by Cowen’s visionary artistry.
