080 Barcelona Fashion Week: YolanCris

Yolanda and Cristina inherited the passion and craft from their mother, pioneer in the bridal business. In 1985, her mother Mercedes opened her first business dedicated to the brides, and the two small daughters used to play with the pins and also hid among the bride dresses. Yolanda loved selling and satisfying the needs of her clientele, she took care of her mother’s store.

Due to that, at the age of 20 she decided to open her own atelier on his home town. Yolanda was born in 1978 and Cristina in 1979, both sisters from Sabadell, Barcelona. This passion made them revolutionize bridal fashion creating their own luxury brand named Yolancris, specialized in evening and bridal gowns and probably the pioneers of the Boho Style, very present in bridal.

The firm attends the prêt-a-porter and Bridal Fashion Weeks of Paris, New York and Barcelona and nowadays Asia, Japan, USA, Russia and Latin America in more than 30 countries overall. The philosophy that carries out Yolancris is the commitment of quality and meticulousness of local production and craftsmanship. Nature is always an inspiration for Yolanda Pérez designs who also is a fan of Art Nouveau and Catalan Modernism.

Undoubtedly the new collection presented for the first time in 080 Fashion Week is inspired by the work of craftsmanship. The designers work without sketches, they directly work with moulage. The capsule collection 080.1 that Yolancris presents for FW 22-23 collects classic pattern ideas mixed with 60’s features. The capsule is composed of coats, suits, dresses and two pieces made of leather and velvet combined with gold thread, embedded 3D flowers, pleated tulle, tranche lace and macramé. Fuchsia, white, pale pink and black compose the main color palette of the collection to generate this elegant and at the same time groundbreaking sensation, through binomial colors. The volumes play a very important role in the form of ruffles and puffed sleeves, skirts with pleats and cancan and flowers. Thanks to this, the woman appears empowered, sensual, cheeky and with a very feminine silhouette.

One of the brand’s leitmotiv is to offer timeless collections with garments that are a safe bet in a contemporary woman’s wardrobe.
